NTSB Chairman Talks Seat Belts In School Buses

Until a few months ago, it looked as if the debate about seat belts in school buses was dying down. Those against requiring seat belts in school buses maintained the vehicles are sufficiently safe and requiring seat belts was unnecessary, especially with considering already tight transportation budgets. In the wake of two similar bus accidents in 2012 however, the debate has reached a fever pitch yet again.

Christopher Hart is very familiar with this topic as the chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Hart recently sat down to speak with the Executive Editor of School Bus Fleet Magazine to discuss the issue of seat belts in school buses as well as several other safety matters.
