The Lunchbox Express Feeds Colorado Children From Buses

Last month I showed off a bus being used by Manatee County School District to help feed children throughout the summer, but it appears Denver has been running a similar program on a larger scale for years with a full program using buses to give children throughout the entire area free and filling lunches until school resumes.

There is no registry or qualification requirements, and no paperwork to fill out. Instead, any child or parent just has to show up at one of 13 designated sites throughout Denver and Aurora.

The service uses four small size buses, each referred to as the “Lunchbox Express”, and they target underserved neighborhoods from Monday to Friday.
